Welcome back to SS. Peter and Paul School for the 2017-2018 school year! The SS. Peter and Paul School staff is excited about serving school families and educating our school children.
We take our mission very seriously at SS. Peter and Paul School. Our school is devoted to serving God and bringing our school children closer to God. Everyone in our school family is committed to making sacrifices in order to further our mission and strengthen our faith. Students and teachers will be involved in many faith-based activities this year.
I would like to welcome three new teachers to our staff. Ms. Margaret McAndrew will be teaching 8th grade. She will also be teaching many Spanish classes and several art classes. Ms. Christina Brown will be teaching Pre-K. Mrs. Olive Yaqoob will be teaching grades 6, 7 and 8 science.
We have several important events scheduled for the beginning of the year. Open House will be on September 6th. We will be serving dinner at no charge before the classroom visits to make this night more fun and convenient for our families. Also, we will be having Earth Day on September 9th. Volunteers (parents, students and staff) will be beautifying the school on this day while enjoying lunch, courtesy of Home and School.
I have many goals for this school year. SS. Peter and Paul School has a tradition of graduating students who are among the strongest in the region both academically and morally. I plan to continue this tradition and strengthen it at every opportunity. I also plan to continue improving the physical aspects of the school wherever it is possible. One very important goal is to renew our NEASC accreditation. The school will be visited by NEASC representatives in the spring as part of our regular accreditation renewal process. The staff has spent many hours working after school in preparation for this visit.
I realize that sending children to a Catholic school requires your family to make many sacrifices. The office staff will do everything it can to assist you. We will be distributing several thousand dollars in scholarship money to parents who apply for it during the school year.
The Home and School Association has been invaluable over the years supporting the school, both in fundraising and school promotion. The efforts of the Home and School Association have allowed us to maintain reasonable tuition costs. Please do your best to assist the Home and School Association this year. There are many ways to help. One way is by simply attending Home and School meetings.
Please feel free to call me or email me if you need information or assistance with anything during the year.
May God bless you and your families,
