Religion- We will finish Chapter 11

Math- Fractions

This week we will work with finding equivalent fractions, writing fractions in simplest form, and comparing, ordering fractions.

Health- On Monday we will discuss Lesson #4 on “Food Safety”. Our journal will be based on this lesson.

Reading- Theme #4 Skill Test-Monday, Wednesday- Theme #5

We will reread “The Marble Champ” and read “Thurgood Marshall”

*New vocabulary words will be in binders (theme #5)

Science- We will focus on Lesson #2 on Invertebrates. We will begin working on Lesson #3 on Vertebrates.

*Homework- all week

Study vocab and outline for lesson #2

Social Studies- We’re moving to the Southwest Region

We will begin studying the map and capitals for this region. (new sheets are in their binders)

*The class did a wonderful job on their state maps! The display boards that arrived today look fantastic!!! J

*You can see our state projects on display in the foyer of the school and the hallway near grade 1.

Field Trip- Thanks so much to all the parents who volunteered to chaperone for our trip to Flander’s Nature Center. I’m allowed to bring 6 parents. I will put names in a hat, and ask Mrs. Curry to choose 6 parents.
