I received a phone call from Superintendent Snead’s office today concerning an incident that took place on Friday.  It seems a 5th grade girl was walking home from Chase School when a Hispanic man in a black car pulled up and tried to coerce her to get into the car with him.  The police were called, but as of yet the man is still at large.  Please review safety precautions with your child; we have done this in the classroom.

Dear Parents,

Thankfully, the weather is getting warmer.  The children may begin wearing the summer uniform.  They may wear the school shorts with the yellow gym shirts. Or if they are in the regular uniform, their vests are no longer required.  Girls should not be wearing pants or leggings, and all socks should be covering the ankles.  Please check the length of the skirts because some of the girls have really shot up.

The second graders will be receiving their First Holy Eucharist on May 3rd at 12:00 pm.  All are invited to come to Mass to share in this special celebration.

The IOWA results are here and will go home on Wednesday.  Please go over these very carefully and compare your child’s growth from last year.  I will be at the school on Thurs. May 1st @ 6:30 pm to answer any question you may have.

Many of the classes will be going on field trips over the next two months.  Before your child goes, please refresh them with program & bus safety.  Also, it never hurts to go over the general rules (never be alone, don’t talk to strangers) etc.

Some of our girls will be crowning Mary Our Queen at the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, May 4th.

Congratulations go out to all our wonderful “Moms”.    Happy & Holy Mother’s Day.
